"Me hundí un poco más para conseguir una mejor ola y simplemente bajé la cabeza y le di un cabezazo, pero luego me agarró y yo empecé a golpearlo hasta que me soltó", dijo Kenny.
Kenny necesitó 20 puntos de sutura a causa del ataque.

Dejando de lado la experiencia cercana a la muerte, Kenny no culpa al tiburón por haberlo mordido. "Estaba en su mundo", dijo Kenny. "Estaba ocupándose de su propia vida y yo lo golpeé con la cabeza, así que tomó represalias".
