Correa se despide de la presidencia de Ecuador en medio de ovaciones ciudadanas

QUITO (Sputnik) — "¡Gracias, presidente!" fue la frase más repetida durante el recorrido que el mandatario saliente de Ecuador, Rafael Correa, realizó hasta llegar a la sede de la Asamblea Nacional (parlamento) por última vez como jefe de Estado.

"Es una gran pena verle partir, pero sabemos que el país queda en buenas manos", dijo a Sputnik el ciudadano Jaime Robledo, quien se acercó hasta el parlamento para despedir al mandatario, quien llegó caminando a la ceremonia de investidura de su sucesor, Lenín Moreno.

A su entrada al hemiciclo de la Asamblea, fue recibido en medio de ovaciones de los más de 1.500 asistentes que llegaron a presenciar el cambio de mando.

Ya dentro del pleno legislativo, el jefe de Estado saliente saludó de forma efusiva con sus colaboradores más allegados, así como con los presidentes visitantes y a Moreno.

"Muchas gracias", atinó únicamente a decir Correa mientras saludaba y recibía vítores de los asistentes.

"Gracias por su coraje, persistencia y entrega presidente Correa", dijo por su parte el presidente del parlamento, José Serrano, en su alocución inicial que fue interrumpida solamente por los repetidos aplausos dedicados al mandatario saliente.

La ceremonia de relevo presidencial comenzó tras la llegada de Correa al legislativo; previamente hizo su arribo Moreno, además del vicepresidente Jorge Glas y las delegaciones internacionales.
