PEKÍN (Sputnik) — El Aeropuerto Internacional de Pekín-Daxing, el más grande del mundo, comenzó sus operaciones, informaron los medios chinos.

Originalmente se planeaba que el aeropuerto empezara a trabajar el 30 de septiembre, pero, según los medios locales, los primeros vuelos comenzarán ya este 25 de septiembre.

El jefe del proyecto de construcción del aeropuerto, Li Jianhua, comentó a Sputnik que todas las compañías aéreas que forman parte de la alianza SkyTeam, entre ellas la rusa Aeroflot, se mudarán al nuevo aeródromo, mientras que las compañías miembros de Star Alliance mantendrán sus operaciones en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Pekín-Capital.

El Aeropuerto Internacional de Pekín-Daxing está ubicado a 46 kilómetros del centro de Pekín.

El nuevo aeropuerto cuenta con cuatro pistas de aterrizaje.

Se planea que para 2025 podrá recibir hasta 620.000 vuelos anuales, lo que implicaría un flujo de hasta 72 millones de pasajeros.
